Empowering Interfaith Communities Through Honest And Compassionate Dialogue

We are Emma and Janine, conflict transformation coaches offering Nonviolent Communication (NVC) trainings to support people of Jewish, other faiths and no faith in the UK, to bridge the gap between their communities during this difficult period of friction and disconnection post October 7th.

As London Jews with family ties in Israel, we are acutely aware of the complex layers of pain and disconnection currently affecting Jewish and Muslim people worldwide. On all sides, people are seeking safety, understanding, and the right to live peacefully.

The tragic reality is that our society's culture and language of separation, rooted in comparison, judgement, and blame, are only deepening these divides. If this continues, and with the prospect of ongoing and increasing war in the Middle East, we fear that conflict and ‘othering’ will only grow stronger within and across our communities.

We have witnessed first-hand how NVC can transform communities and alleviate conflict. Training individuals in empathy and active listening empowers them to engage in difficult conversations without resorting to disconnection and the harmful dynamics of "who is right and who is wrong." We have seen people find relief and hope as they learn to share their voices and stay connected even in the face of conflict.

Our Vision:

Our vision is to equip the UK Jewish and Interfaith communities with the vital skills and confidence needed to enable them to find their voices, hear each other and bridge the gaps that have erupted over the last year. We aim to bring these skills into community settings by training and empowering community leaders disseminating the learning, spreading empathy and authenticity. We believe that the change we wish to see in the world starts from within, and we invite you to join us in making this change within our community now.

In light of the recent and escalated distrust and conflicting views between Jewish and non-Jewish Communities post-October 7th, the transformative power of NVC is more essential than ever in fostering understanding, empathy, and connection among all those who are impacted.
