About The Event

Saturday 30th July

11:00 - 15:00 BST - Hornsey

About the course:

Sometimes it can be really tough to hear what others have to say about us, or to listen to our loved ones when we feel triggered or upset. Do you find yourself arguing with your partner or getting frustrated with your parents, or annoyed with your kids with no simple way to get through to each other and connect? Living with ourselves and with others is not easy for most of us, it is an art that takes practice and compassion.

A compassionate and honest relationship with ourselves and our loved ones helps us to obtain balance and joy in our lives. And yet listening to each other with empathy is not taught at schools, we have grown up in a society of rite or wrong, good or bad  and winning or losing, this creates a huge pressure on relationships which stops us from seeing each other's humanity, and this is where conflict happens.

On this 1/2 day training we will concentrate on empathic listening, following the rhythm and flow of others as we let go of trying to fix, defend or reassure and move towards listening openly and deeply to the longings and desires that we can relate to and welcome with curiosity. .

What will I learn?

The practice of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) offers simple but extremely powerful tools , to better understand ourselves and each other and to find solutions that work for everyone through observation, compassion and honesty.

on this 1 day workshop, we will examine:

- How to start listening to the beauty behind spikey words.

- Self empathy when it’s too hard to hear the other

- How to relax into the art of doing “nothing”, inviting curiosity and connection

- How empathy helps you to form a deeper connection with your loved ones

- and much much more!

HOW?

At my place in Hornsey (adress will be sent with tickets) N89NA, we will practice the NVC method through demonstrations, role-plays and exercises. You will be invited to work with real-life examples from your life for an interactive experience and a real integration of NVC philosophy and skills into everyday life.

We invite you to bring a picnic and instruments or anything else you would like to share with the group as we invite you to stay and enjoy each others company after the workshop (optional)
