Relationships, Family, Work.. Living with ourselves and with others is not always easy. Do you find yourself arguing with your partner about little things or feeling constantly helpless about being a parent or connecting with your parents, or feeling like nobody will ever be able to understand you?
A compassionate and honest relationship with ourselves helps us to obtain balance and joy in our lives. And yet listening to and communicating our deeper needs in an authentic, compassionate way is something our current culture and society does not teach us.
What will I learn?
The practice of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) offers simple but extremely powerful tools , to better understand ourselves and each other and to find solutions that work for everyone through observation, compassion and honesty. This together with a myriad of embodiment, mindfulness and meditative practices will support us to experience communication through the multi faceted lenses of soma, language, cognition and energy as we explore the art of being authentically connected humans in a co- held community.
In this introductory course of 6 meetings, we will examine:
- How to communicate with sincerity and honesty without judgement or criticizing?
- How to listen to others with curiosity and presence which brings trust into the relationship?
- How to listen to yourself and recognize your deepest needs?
- How to find a connection in conflict?
- How can empathy help us to understand our uncomfortable feelings?
- How to tune into your own intuition and listen to ques and sensations that bring you closer to what's important for you.
- How to cultivate genuine bonds and deeper connections with others
- and much much more!
HOW?
In a beautiful and relaxing venue in North London, we will gather and create a safe environment, to practice the NVC method and language if life, together through demonstrations, role-plays and exercises. WHAT PEOPLE SAY:
Lillie: “Each session of our course left me feeling nourished, heard, held, inspired, thankful and connected to everyone in the group but most importantly myself. I have already seen such a shift in my awareness of my needs and how I listen to and honor other people's needs too.
I have since recommended the course and Emma’s offerings to literally everyone around me as I feel like this level of wisdom, safety, expansion and support is something everyone should get the chance to experience.”
NIX: "My communication now comes from the heart and allows me to feel more authentically me so that others are better able to understand me. I now have an open conscious dialogue and relationship with those closer to me, which involves sharing our needs and feelings"
Vik: “I swear my life has changed in so many positive ways just from doing the foundations course!
Conversations with close friends have created more authenticity, courage & vulnerability in myself whilst also & allowed them to change their way of communication too!!
It's such a precious gem of a tool, needed for every relationship, including that with myself!”
Rik: “It's been a deeply transformative process and I'm excited that now the real work begins of implementing NVC outside the 'circle'. There is something really gratifying and empowering about how NVC combines self-connection with connecting to other people. And I wanted to express extra gratitude for the beautiful manner in which you integrated embodiment and mindfulness into the course….. Booking on to your foundation course was the best decision made. I value your passion, support, kindness and trust in what you do. I enjoyed every session in the course, some powerful emotions and realisations came through and I am grateful for these experiences. NVC truly opens your eyes to so many things and I hope I can carry my learnings throughout my life. ”
