IF you have been exploring the beauty and power of NVC at a foundation level and can see the difference in your relationships, your communication and your understanding of the inner dialogue that affects the way that you connect with the world. Perhaps you are at a point where yes you see the changes and you love them, yet you come across comments from friends and family such as “don’t do that NVC thing on me” OR maybe you judge yourself to sound “robotic” not yet having found that integrated flow of communicating naturally?
OR perhaps you love the quality of aliveness and growth that comes with community learning, the way that we can dive deeper into the changes we want to see in this world, when we come into practice together?
If so, the Intermediate course may be an opportunity for you to unpeel more layers of your inner onion, so that the raw and honest center of yourself can feel safer to be met in connection with others.
Over the past 9 years of learning and teaching NVC and other modalities, the one thing i keep coming back to is that wish for more intimacy, closeness and a deeper connection beyond words.
This is what i hope to offer us in the Intermediate Course, a chance to deeply connect beyond words.
What will I learn?
The practice of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) offers simple but extremely powerful tools , to better understand ourselves and each other and to find solutions that work for everyone through observation, compassion and honesty.
In this intermediate course, we will examine:
❀ Embracing Discomfort as my Dear Friend: Where there is discomfort and resistance, there is a sweet opportunity to meet our inner protectors and listen deeply to the message of support that they are holding onto. Transforming protective parts of ourselves comes first with accepting and loving their life affirming mission.
❀ Touching the essence of life: Deepening into Dyad meditation practices as a form of inner enquiry and an opportunity to meet your life force energy through speaking practices.
❀ Authentic Circle Practices: Group processing can be powerful, in these circles we will allow life to emerge in the space between us, using the skills of empathy and authentic expression to dive into connection together
❀ The beauty of Anger (The Dilemma of Honesty:
peeling the onion toward layers of authenticity/vulnerability) How to love it when I am triggered and seeing the purpose of anger (≠ trying to NOT be angry or triggered). Going down the layers of vulnerability, peeling myself like an onion. How to enlarge the chances that our honest expression will be received as a gift, rather than as a threat, blame, demand or criticism.
❀ Street Giraffe: Deepening Empathic Skills
How to make ‘Empathic listening’ be more fluent, natural sounding and accessible to all people? ❀ Liberating from Guilt As an under current, Guilt is running our life- it runs as a deep motivation behind many of our choices and behavior. Liberating from guilt is to get clear about the mechanism behind guilt, and free us into a choice that includes all our needs.
❀ Going beyond (under) opinions How not to get stuck when our opinions differ?
How to create connection and cooperation even when we think very differently
❀ Juicing the Needs (The Beauty of the Needs)
Changing our own relation to our (and others) needs- connecting to the power within us to create the life we want to live. How to see the beauty of the need in me and in the other, instead of seeing needs as a burden or as a threat? 1 Intermediate Course_Course content
❀ Expressing NO with an open heart Diving into the most meaningful moment in a dialogue- the ‘NO’.
Understanding the dynamics, and practice skills in transforming conflict into connection and cooperation that supports both of us to be fully ourselves.
❀ The Art of Celebration & Mourning:
What ‘Mourning’ really is? And how to do it? What ‘Celebration’ Really is? And how to do it?
❀ And More...
HOW?
In a beautiful and relaxing venue in North London, we will gather and create a safe environment, to practice the NVC method and language if life, together through demonstrations, role-plays and exercises. You will be invited to work with real-life examples from your life for an interactive experience and a real integration of NVC philosophy and skills into everyday life.
What participants say:
Nicky Moran - Intermediate Course Feb 2023
"I studied intermediate NVC with Emma and found it so fulfilling and useful. Emma teaches in such a way that the training becomes deep and brings insights immediately. I found the nvc tools so helpful for understanding unhelpful patterns that were holding me back and giving me clear and practical ways of communicating my needs to other people in a way that builds connections, rather than causing conflict. It helped me understand old relationship dynamics and patterns and to learn how to approach them more skillfully.
Emma is such a skilled facilitator and she was able to teach and hold space with sensitivity and helped to create clarity."
Andrew: Intermediate Course - July 2023
"Emma is a wonderful facilitator. When attending her events I always feel safe, included, respected and connected to her and the other participants - and I always leave feeling expanded and with a warm glow in my heart. I know of no one better suited to sharing the wonderful gifts of empathetic communication. 100% recommended!"

How Much do I pay?
I use a sliding scale system in order to make this course inclusive and accessible to people from different financial circumstances to attend, whilst keeping it sustainable for me to offer the course. I also like that money is given to me as a form of gratitude for the work that we do together as it supports me to receive it more joyfully.
I am currently offering this training on a PAY WHAT YOU CAN basis in order to make this training available to a wider community of people.
Firstly I love that money is received as gratitude rather than simply an exchange, so I am happy that you pay a deposit of £90 to secure your place, and then you can choose how much you want to offer me at the end of the training. To choose this option simply pay the deposit and I will send you an email for the rest of the payment on November 8th / the last day of the training.
When paying at the end: I ask that you choose any amount between £300- £550 which takes into account, my time and experience and yet also feels comfortable and possible for you to offer so that you can attend this training. If this system is confusing and you prefer to be given an amount you can follow the guideline bellow:
£90-250 - MAKING IT POSSIBLE (Your attendance is welcome and we want you to join us!) 2 x spaces at this price range
£300 - COVER THE BASICS (covers the cost of hiring the venue, + advertising and marketing)
£450- SUSTAINING THE COURSE (Sustains Emma's basic financial needs so that she can pay for her own living costs)
£550 - SUPPORTING LIFE= (Supports Emma to treat herself and live beyond the cost of living / go on holiday this year / pay for the next course venue hire+ continue to offer courses in future)
£550++= supporting others on a low income + support the sustainability of running this course (the extra amount you offer will make this course available to 3 x people who have received a mostly subsudised ticket and may not have been able to attend otherwise.)
The course will run with a minimum of 10 participants, if this number is not reached you will be refunded or the course will be postponed.
